Great you have opened the comments box, Martin. Is this nearly the biggest you have taken?
Martin Robbins: Thanks Lis, It's not the biggest barbel, but I'm very happy when I catch them this size........the biggest barbel I've caught is 13 and 3/4lb, but the UK record is over 20lb! So there's plenty to keep striving for! smile
I would be mighty proud to catch a whopper like this, Martin. BRAVO!
Martin Robbins: Thank you Ginnie! I get the same satisfaction, as I did when I was a youngster catching tiddlers! smile

Good catch! Sushi, pan fried or coal grilled?
Martin Robbins: Thanks Louis smile Ah, this one should still be swimming around today........I released him soon after and he gave a strong swish of his tail as he rejoined the current!
That is a fine specimen...The fish is good too grin
Martin Robbins: Thanks Bill :-D
Hi Martin, nice to see you are still fishing. You might remember me saying my son fishes, well under the posting here for last Friday http://brianaw.shutterchance.com/image/2017/09/01/from-my-competition-folder--part-5-55/ you will see what he caught last week, he hasn't had anything like it for a very long time.
Martin Robbins: Wow, that was a catch! A lovely common carp smile Yes, I still love fishing........always try to make some time for it. It's funny what you say about your son not having caught anything so big for a while; I have the same cycles of bounty and hope! Thanks Brian smile
Wow! I am glad we get to comment. That is a beautiful fish with it's very long pink fins. Well done.
Martin Robbins: Thanks Mary.....I really love the look of these fish; they're river dwellers, rather than still water fish, hence their shape. smile
